How to Unlock Genevieve Gruyere in Vampire Survivors Tides of the Foscari DLC

It gets crazier and crazier as you go through this DLC.

Genevieve Gruyere is, from my understanding, the evil entity we are up against in Vampire Survivors Tides of the Foscari DLC, which got sealed away under the Lake Foscari, in the Abyss Foscari. For no reason at all, players of this DLC decide to unseal this evil and defeat it once and for all. You may be wondering why this is the case, and our guess is… Boredom.

Tides of the Foscari DLC is anything but boring, and Genevieve Gruyere is a potent character that you will have tons of fun with. Let’s see how you can unlock Genevieve Gruyere and what fun abilities she has. Welcome to Prima Games.

How to Get the New Character Genevieve Gruyere in Vampire Survivors Tides of the Foscari DLC? – Answered

Genevieve Gruyere could be the evil sister of Luminaire Foscari, a childhood friend turned evil, or anything more or less cliche. Vampire Survivors doesn’t do much storytelling, it’s up to the reader (player) to interpret things. You can unlock Genevieve Gruyere by breaking the Seal of the Banished, for which we have a guide here.

Genevieve Gruyere in Vampire Survivors Tides of the Foscari DLC has the following power:

Triggers a Vacuum when levelling up. Once per life, triggers World Eater after receiving fatal damage.

When you level up, you automatically trigger a Vacuum, which is insane for AFK grinds, just saying. But let’s talk about the World Eater (reminds me of a Northlane song, Warhammer 40k, etc…)

What is the World Eater in Vampire Survivors Tides of the Foscari DLC? – Answered

The World Eater is the passive, hidden weapon (ability?) of Genevieve Gruyere. You will recognize it by a big skull animation that is half-transparent, and you will see it “chew” the world. What happens is basically a Rosary effect, with a lot of hearts coming out from everything that this ability has killed.

So, each “Revival” is worth twice on Genevieve Gruyere. If you are supposed to die, you won’t die, but instead, World Eater will trigger, you will be recuperated, and you will be able to go on. Next time you’re supposed to die, you’ll die, and if you revive, the World Eater can be “used” again. (correct terminology would be that it can be triggered again, but hey).

Genevieve Gruyere’s starting weapon is the Shadow Servant. The text is simple.

Has a chance to slow enemies down.

  • Level 2 – Fires 1 more projectile.
  • Level 3 – Base Damage up by 10.
  • Level 4 – Base Damage up by 10.
  • Level 5 – Base Area up by 50%
  • Level 6 – Fires 1 more projectile.
  • Level 7 – Base Damage up by 10.
  • Level 8 – Base Damage up by 10.

The evolution of Shadow Servant is possible, and we will show this in this article to avoid spoilers.
