How to Transfer Death Stranding Save Data to Director’s Cut on PC

Death Stranding Director’s Cut has hit the PC market, and with this new version comes the ability to move your save data over from the original Death Stranding. There’s a little more legwork involved than simply pressing a button. You gotta press multiple buttons across two different programs! Here’s how it all works.

You need to be connected to the internet, and you need your original Death Stranding to be at least version 1.07. These two things kinda go together so I’m sure it’ll be fine! Then you need to actually load the game into the save file you’re planning to bring over.

Once you’re in the game, go to a Delivery Terminal in any facility and open the Cuff Links. You’re going to want the “SYSTEM” option, followed by “Export Save Data.” This won’t work if you have any Orders for Sam active, so make sure that’s all taken care of.

If everything’s good, you’ll get an export file of your Death Stranding save data. Now you can launch Death Stranding Director’s Cut. Make sure you’re using the same account to sign in; otherwise the process will stop there. Your final step is to simply choose the option “Load Game (Death Stranding Save Data.”

If you met all the little requirements and followed the steps, you’ll be in Director’s Cut with all your prior progress intact. The new game even creates a bespoke save data file for you, so you don’t even need to worry about it.
