How to Tighten Belts on Wanderers in Frostpunk 2

Tighten the belts and earn an achievement!

Frostpunk 2’s prologue is a welcoming introduction to the dreaded challenges you’ll face throughout the game. The prologue will teach you the ropes, and some of the optional objectives might seem confusing to find since they don’t show it, specifically tightening belts on the Wanderers. Here’s how you can tighten those belts and what they do in Frostpunk 2.

Once you start the prologue, you’ll constantly see objectives on the right side involving the basics of the game. Most of them involve acquiring materials, extracting Oil, and turning on the Dreadnaught’s Furnace. However, the ultimate goal of the prologue is to have your city survive the upcoming whiteout.

After you finish the other objectives, such as building Housing Districts and a Food District on a food tile, you’ll eventually read other optional objectives to help you finish the goal.

Once you build your Food District, you’ll need to stockpile enough food in your Food Stockpile Hub building, which you also need to construct two of. Since building one or two Food Districts is not enough for you to survive the whiteout, there are optional objectives you should do to help stockpile more food.

Two of the optional objectives are performing emergency shifts in Food Districts and tightening the belts of your Wanderers. To tighten the belts of your Wanderers, you need to press the faction icon at the bottom of your screen. It’ll bring up the Wanderers faction window, and there’s an option to tighten the belts, as seen in the image above.

What Does Tighten Belt Do in Frostpunk 2?

Tightening the belts will ration the food supplies, making Wanderers eat less food. There’s a No Lesser Evil achievement you can get from the prologue. Using both of these optional objectives constantly and acquiring enough food to survive the whiteout without sacrificing your elders and seal will get you the achievement.

The trick is to build a Food District near the Seal Colony tile, keep using the emergency shifts on Food Districts, and tighten the belts of the Wanderers. Eventually, you’ll get enough food to survive the whiteout without sacrificing anyone. It is best to frostbreak these food tiles and the Seal Colony as fast as possible.
