One of the rarest creatures you can find in Minecraft is a Parrot. Those chatty birds have a specific spawning biome like most creatures, but the actual chances of meeting one of those are so low that it would be no surprise if you haven’t found them in any of the worlds you’ve created.
But if you’re one of the lucky few to actually witness this elusive creature or are simply planning on finding one of those, here’s what you need to do in order to tame Parrots in Minecraft.
How to Tame a Parrot in Minecraft
To successfully tame this feathered fellow, all you gotta to do is feed it some seeds. It can be any kind of seed, which means that any option from Wheat Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Melon Seeds, and Beetroot Seeds will work. As of 1.20, Pitcher Pods can also be used.
With the seeds in hand, the hardest part is to actually find the Parrot. They have around a 0,2% chance of spawning exclusively in Jungle Biomes, so it might take a while even after getting to the correct area. But if you’re lucky to find them, approach them carefully and use the seeds to grab their attention. You’ll see a message popping up if you successfully tamed it.

Parrots can rest on your shoulder, and you can have two parrots on you simultaneously. And yes, they do the little parrot dance! They’re just as cute as they can get.
Just like real life, they’ll also mimic the sounds of nearby creatures, which helps you know what you’re facing. If you hear a zombie sound, but you see nothing besides your parrot, be ready to kick that thing back to the grave.
You can play Minecraft on any platform you want, as the game is currently available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series X/Y, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, and PC.
