As you traverse the zombie-infested wasteland, you’ll quickly be swarmed by the undead. But beyond keeping an eye on your six, you’ll need to know your surroundings to find those valuable loot caches and contracts.

A third-person perspective can help you stay more aware of your surroundings. Here’s how to switch to a third-person perspective in MW3 zombies, the only mode that allows for this perspective switch. And yes, both console and PC players can take advantage of this switch.

How to Switch to Third Person Perspective if You’re Using a Controller in MW3 Zombies

If you’re using a controller, switching to a third-person perspective is as easy as clicking a button. Just press and hold the “down” button on the d-pad. This will change your view to the third person. By just tapping it, you’ll open the rucksack.

And, to switch back at any point, you just need to press the same button again.

How to Switch to Third Person Perspective if You’re Playing on PC in MW3 Zombies

Switching to third-person in MW3 Zombies is a little trickier if you’re killing zombies on PC. While Zombies is loaded up, you must press “Esc” to open the menu.

Then, you’ll see the option to switch to third-person on the top left of the menu. From this menu, you can switch back and forth between perspectives. It’s not a perfect solution, but if you really like view changing, you may be able to map the option to another button on your keyboard or mouse.
