How to Survive the Jester in Lethal Company

Jack in the Box of all trades of instilling fear.

Lethal Company offers quite an SCP-esque pallet of monsters (entities) that will haunt you inside and outside the facilities you roam to find scrap to sell for profit. Jester is one of those entities, and I will gladly tell you how to survive interaction with it.

How to Escape the Jester in Lethal Company

You will recognize Jester by seeing a walking “Jack-in-the-Box.” Jester has three phases in Lethal Company. I will explain below to help you fully understand how Jester functions in Lethal Company so that you can increase your chances of survival.

Phase 1 – Oh, look, a cute walking box! Can we keep it?

In this phase, the Jester walks around for between a dozen seconds and half a minute (decided at random) and is harmless to the players. Therefore, there is no reason to be alarmed, even though your best bet is to head toward the exit now.

Phase 2 – Oh look, it’s playing music for us! Wait, why does it keep getting faster?

The Jester stops its movement and commences playing its tune. The tune can last around half a minute (give or take about five seconds; I haven’t encountered it many times), and after that, well, you’re all goners.

Phase 3 – WHAT THE HELL?! RUN!

Spooky Scary Skeleton comes out of the box to get all of you. The only way to survive is to leave the facility because Jester won’t come out and follow you into the woods. It’s pretty fast and will one-shot you.

Can you Defeat the Jester in Lethal Company?

No. You cannot kill Jester in Lethal Company. However, these tips will help you outrun it:

  • Try to remember your steps so that you are better aware of where the nearest exit is.
  • Zap Gun can stun Jester during all three phases and slightly delay the untimely demise of you and your co-workers or buy you enough time to get out of there.
  • Jester tends to chase the nearest crewmate first, so if you know for sure who the nearest crewmate was when Jester got activated. If you are not sure that you can run out in time or you feel you are lost in the hallways, you can try and split up and have the “target” player act as a decoy/dummy and move as far away as possible, or even, near one of the exits, while the others run away to save themselves. That will buy the team some time if almost one minute is not enough for you to get the heck out.

That’s all about the Jester. Check out all items and how to use them in Lethal Company.
