The Sakurajima update is a free patch for the Pokemon meets survival game Palworld that adds a new island, a PVP arena mode, another raid, new Pals, and more. Here is how to start the Sakurajima DLC in Palworld.
How to Find Sakurajima Island in Palworld
Palworld players can find Sakurajima Island by simply traveling northwest on the game’s map. Players who have already explored the vast ocean that the space occupied before will find it to be blacked out and must be explored again.
The closest fast travel points to the island are the Forgotten Island, Forgotten Island Church Ruins, and Ice Wind Island fast travel statues. The island is placed north of the volcanic region and west of the snowy mountainous region.
Either unlock or warp to one of the points, then summon a flying or surfing Pal that can be mounted. Use them to cross the short distance of the water to be on Sakurajima Island.
The island has beaches grasslands, a mushroom-infested swamp, and cherry blossoms alongside Japanese architecture at the center. There are six fast travel points that can be unlocked on Sakurajima Island and the Moontower Flower raid tower in the middle of the island. Be sure to make a beeline to the south statue so you can easily return to the island if you get into trouble.
Sakurajima Island Level Requirement in Palworld
While there are very few barriers to entering Sakurajima Island, the region’s Pals may make exploring a lot more difficult. The Pals in the region can start at level 40 and end at level 55. The update has increased the level cap from 50 to 55, but any players in the endgame should level up before taking on the higher-level roaming creatures.
There are two special Pal fights on Sakurajima Island, including the level 54 Menasting Terra and the level 55 Knocklem. Catching these Pals will require a strong team and the new Ultimate Spheres unlocked at level 51. These new Spheres will require a lot of Carbon Fiber, so be sure to stock up for these new Pals.
