How to Spend Attribute Points in Cyberpunk 2077

Attributing to your success.

Part of the enjoyment of Cyberpunk 2077 comes from constructing your character and making them into exactly what you want them to be. Perhaps you want them to be your standard, run-of-the-mill soldier who focuses entirely on skill over tech to gain an edge. Maybe it’s a cyber demon of a character, to the point where you wonder what semblance of a human being is left under all that metal and wiring. One major part of that comes through the skill tree and spending skill points wherever possible. Here’s how to spend attribute points in Cyberpunk 2077.

Once you have at least one attribute point to spend, open up your inventory and navigate to the Character tab, which should appear at the top of the screen. From here, you’ll see five different options to choose from. While there is a sixth option in the Relic skill tree, this is only available to mess with once you’ve started the Phantom Liberty expansion.

From here, select one of those five skills to open up its skill tree. On the left, you should see a point system climbing from 1 to 20 points. Click on the small plus, and you’ll assign an attribute point to that skill. Every five attribute points in a skill will unlock a new set of options in the skill tree to unlock with perk points.

Besides getting access to new perks, leveling an attribute will contribute some minor buffs to a specific area. The buffs you get are as follows:

  • Body: +2 Max Health per Attribute Point.
  • Reflexes: +0.5% Crit Chance per Attribute Point.
  • Technical Ability: +2 Armor per Attribute Point.
  • Intelligence: +1 Max RAM per four Attribute Points.
  • Cool: +1.25% Crit Damage per Attribute Point.

If you ask me, Body and Reflexes are going to provide the most for you in the long run. However, it’ll all depend on the type of character you’re building.
