How to Scrap Junk in Fallout 4

If you’re looking for the raw materials needed to build some of the structures you’ll need, an easy way to get them is to walk around the settlement and scrap anything you don’t need.

To scrap junk in Fallout 4, you need to walk up to buildings, metal cars, and more by opening the build menu and hitting R on PC, A on Xbox, or X on PlayStation. This is the quickest way to get rid of trash around your settlement and get those much-needed extra resources.

It will also give you more space to build the stuff you actually want there and not the useless junk lying around.

When you’re in your inventory menu, you can also scrap it there as well. If you pick up items you no longer want or just aren’t of use to you, simply get rid them for more materials.

If you’re at a workbench crafting weapons and armor you can also scrap a bunch of junk here as well. Really, the game just gives you a lot of places to remove needed inventory that’s taking up space clogging your menus. It’s an excellent system just to receive some quick scraps to work with.

Just be sure to pick your perfect spot in one of the game’s many areas that can be chosen for your settlement. You can only have one active at a time so don’t clean up the space you aren’t going to use!

Fallout 4 is currently available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
