There’s nothing more satisfying than getting some nice, relaxing sleep after a long day. I can only imagine how it feels for our game characters, such as our parties in Baldur’s Gate 3, who fight for hours and want to sit back and chill before continuing their adventure. To rest in Baldur’s Gate 3, select the campfire icon in the bottom-right corner of your screen and choose the eye icon to rest instantly or the crescent moon button to return to your camp and get long rest. Doing this restores your characters’ health and spell slots without consuming potions. The only downside is that you have a limited number of short rests per day, and long ones require using camp supplies.

What Do Short and Long Rests Do in Baldur’s Gate 3?

There are two types of rests in BG3: Short and long rests. Short rests are instant and allow you to restore 50% of your party’s HP alongside spell slots for Warlocks. However, you can only do this twice a day but can get more by taking long rests.

Long rests require you to return to your camp for the night and spend camp supplies to restore all your health, spell slots, and short rests. Vendors often have supplies in stock for you to buy, but you’ll also occasionally pick up camp supply sacks in your inventory containing various ingredients. You’ll gain food for your camp supplies as you take items from enemies, loot chests, and complete quests.
