How to Respec Passive Skills Using Gold in Path of Exile 3.25 Settlers of Kalguur

Orb of Regrets or Gold?

Respeccing or resetting passive skills in Path of Exile is quite a useful but punishing feature. You’ll need to farm a specific currency, Orb of Regrets, to refund passive skills, which can get expensive if you are constantly doing it as you play. However, in Path of Exile’s 3.25 Settlers of Kalguur, there’s a new way to respect passive skills and it is by using gold. Here’s how to respec your passive skills with gold in PoE.

The original or natural way of resetting skills is still through Orb of Regrets, but if you are running out of currency, you can use gold instead. You can respec your passive skills by talking to Faustus, The Financier in Kingsmarch. You can also invite him to your hideout, including Johan, The King’s Hand. Both NPCs are crucial to the new league mechanics in Settlers of Kalguur, so you should invite them to your hideout anyway.

Once you have talked to Faustus, the FInancier, look for the “Respecialization” option and select it. This will open up your passive skill tree, but in a version where you use your gold to refund skill points. You can access this feature as early as the campaign’s early acts. As long as you have access to Kingsmarch, you can use gold for respeccing.

How Does Respeccing With Gold Work in Path of Exile?

Generally, the cost of respeccing a skill point is tied to a player’s level. If you are in the campaign, these respec points may cost only hundreds. However, if you hit around level 90, each point needs 8,450 gold for refunding. The cost gradually increases per level, so when you reach the endgame, it may be more efficient to use Orb of Regrets.

Gold is extremely valuable for sustaining your settlement in Kingsmarch. You don’t want your town or your recruits to suddenly stop working because your treasury has run out and you don’t have any more gold to spare. I highly suggest keeping your gold in the endgame because this currency is more valuable than other currencies like Orb of Regrets.

As a side note, you can make your workers idle so you don’t have to pay their hourly wage. This is useful if you want to prioritize other resources like Thaumaturgic Dust production and you are strapped up for gold at the moment.
