How to Reset Vendor Balance in Starfield

Money is the spice of life.

If you’ve just been on a long haul through Starfield, then you’ll likely want to sell all your precious valuables for some easy money. This can thankfully be done pretty easily, with major towns like New Atlantis offering a few stores willing to buy your goods. These vendors don’t have a lot of money to buy your goods with, though. Here’s how to reset Vendor Balance in Starfield.

To reset a vendor’s money in Starfield, you’ll first want to head to somewhere that you can sit down. There should be plenty of places to sit in whatever town you’re in, but your ship’s cockpit should have a few seats to the left and right of the pilot seat. Once sitting down, wait 24 local hours. This will take a minute, so be ready to check your phone or something while you wait. Once it’s done, head back to the vendor, and that’s it!

While it is that simple, you should keep a few things in mind when doing this. For one, make sure that you’re selling to all vendors in the area before waiting to speed things up a bit. If you’re doing this in New Atlantis, for example, you’ll want to sell to the Trade Authority kiosk next to your ship and the Jemison Mercantile store, located to the left of the security checkpoint.

You can also increase a vendor’s money by buying their goods. If you’re also needing some spare ammo, I’d suggest buying some before resetting. I’m always in need of some 3KV Lazer ammo, so I tend to buy some before going to wait since it’ll reset the shop’s inventory, too.

Provided you follow this method, you should have a surplus of money in no time! If you’re looking into more about the game, check out our guide on how to pick locks in Starfield.

Best Way to Reset Vendor Credits

To optimize resetting vendor credits, there are a few things you can do.

  • Find multiple vendors close to one another with a high amount of credits
  • Maximize how much you can sell to the vendor’s by giving them more credits when you buy items you need from them
  • Sell enough to get each vendor’s entire stash of credits
  • Wait 24 hours at any bed or seat in a safe area
  • Repeat

We want to stress the importance of waiting in a safe area. Because if you don’t, your suit protection could be depleted.
