How to Recover a Combat Cache in Fortnite

Get ready for defense.

Chapter 4 of Fortnite brought plenty of opportunities to hold objectives for some well-deserved loot and that trend hasn’t changed with the launch of Season 2. One of those objectives is the Combat Cache and players will need to recover one if they want to finish all of the Weekly Quests.

Unlike some of the flags that you’ll see in the POIs around the island, these cache containers are much less predictable and will call more attention to enemies. In this Fortnite guide, we’ll outline how you can recover a Combat Cache and be on your way with some rare loot.

Fortnite – How to Recover a Combat Cache

In the same way that traditional crates or event containers would work, the Combat Cache in Chapter 4 Season 2 will appear after some time has already passed in the match. More specifically, the cache will drop down after the second circle has closed and the third begins.

When one of these drops from the sky, the entire map will be notified and you’ll be able to see the symbol with your distance from the objective. Each one of the Combat Cache containers will start out holding legendary gear, which you can see by the light above. The longer it goes without being opened, the further down in rarity it will go.

If you decide to recover the Combat Cache in Fortnite, you’ll need to activate it and stay in the area while the meter fills up. This process is very similar to the flags that already exist and you can be attacked at nearly any moment. Try to find some cover around you and watch the container as you wait for some loot and a Weekly Quest completion in your match,
