How to Reach the Top of Fort Kah’Lin in Jedi Survivor

Grapples required.

As you explore the area around Rambler’s Reach on Koboh, you might come across Fort Kah’Lin fairly early into the game, and the area has more than a few enemies to take care of. Even after you’ve cleared the two main levels of the Fort in Jedi Survivor, there is a third that seems impossible to reach.

When I first saw the fort, I tried everything I could to reach the third level, where extra Bedlam Raider guards were clearly patrolling. Nothing worked until I upgraded some equipment for Cal Kestis later in the game, and we’ll discuss how that works in our guide for the Fort.

There is only one way to get to the third level, and it’s by using the Upgraded Ascension Cable. Everyone starts with the standard cable, which is essentially just a grappling hook that Cal starts using very early into the game. You won’t be able to get the upgraded version until much later when you hunt down Rayvis on the Shattered Moon.

Once you have the Upgraded Ascension Cable, it lets you grapple and spring even further. That means an opportunity for reaching much higher areas, like the top of Fort Kah’Lin in Jedi Survivor. At the fort, you’ll see a green cylinder on the holo map. This indicates a grappling point for the Upgraded Ascension Cable and an opening for a fresh path.

You can climb up to the second level of the fort and look toward the cylinder, which is near the main gates. Grapple on with Cal and double jump after using the cable to reach the new area. Now you have access to the entirety of Fort Kah’Lin. And you can even take on the Spawn of Oggdo if you still have that to finish as well.
