So, you reckon you’re an absolute multiplayer beast at Gears 5, aye? Gunned through your enemies and separated the wheat from the chaff? Chainsawed your way to your own personal hall of fame? Maybe you’re standing on top of a pile of PVP corpses and you’re thinking, “Have I really exhausted all of my options here?” Well, we have good news: we’re going to show you how to Re-Up in Gears 5 once you’ve hit the PVP pinnacle, and what you can get from doing so outside of a chance at a new game experience.
How to Re-Up in Gears 5: Reaching Level 100 and Rewards
Let’s give you a brief run-down of what you actually need to do to Re-Up. It’s not just for everyone, least of all the faint-hearted, so you’re going to have to actually have to hit almost Level 100 in the multiplayer campaign before you even get a whiff of it.
Once you’re Level 100, you’ll essentially be able to Re-Up which is what the Gears 5 is calling Prestige. You’re familiar with the activity from either playing a bunch of other shooters or hearing about people yelling about Prestige on the internet, but if you need a refresher: it’s essentially like a soft level rest for your multiplayer record, even though you’ll keep all your achievements and cards. You’ll get a reward from the game for Re-Upping, though it’s just one of the things that you can choose to do when you peak in the PvP arena. You can look forward to Operations and Tour of Duty missions that will be rolling in hot, so if you’re unsure, don’t just leap at the chance to immediately reset yourself unless you really want the skins that you’ll get: we hear that some camo is on the cards, and the current reward is a bloodstained skin.
We’re going to be keeping our eyes out for more rewards that should be on the way. We can’t imagine that The Coalition will want to keep incentives sparse for those choosing to engage heavily with Gears 5 and its multiplayer content, especially since it’s probably one of the most fun ways to actually crack into the title. If you’re still on the fence about the thing and knowing how to Re-Up hasn’t actually solved whether or not you want to do it, that’s fine! Keep trucking along with your mates and join us in waiting for the Gears 5 content road map to really kick off.
