The Prestige system has returned to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and harkens back to the old style where players can reset their rank and practically start over again. This guide will go over what you keep and lose when ranking up, so here is how to Prestige in Black Ops 6.
How to Access Prestige System in Black Ops 6
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players must reach level 55, the maximum level, before they can Prestige to the next rank. Like previous Call of Duty games, players will earn a variety of weaponry and loadout unlocks along the way.
The Prestige system can be found in the Progression menu under the Barracks tab. You will be able to check all rewards for the first 55 levels and each of the 10 Prestige ranks. There are multiple rewards to earn throughout each Prestige rank, including loading screens, cosmetic skins, and weapon blueprints.
What Does Prestige Do in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6?
Activating Prestige after reaching level 55 will reset your rank back to level 1. That means all the previous level unlocks are now locked again, so players will have to earn their weapons and loadout perks all over again.
However, players will also receive one Permanent Unlock to permanently unlock any item within the 55 levels. The smart choice would be to pick items in the late levels to get access to them immediately. Players will receive a total of 10 Permanent Unlocks, with one each Prestige.
The following items will not be lost after Prestige:
- Weapon blueprints, camos, progression, or reticles
- Saved weapon loadouts will return after reaching level 4
- Challenge progress
- Cosmetic items earned from unlocks, the in-game Store, or Battle Pass
- Zombies GobbleGums
