How to Prepare for World of Warcraft: The War Within Expansion

Warbands, Warbands, and Warbands!

Like all previous World of Warcraft expansion releases, the game will always undergo a “pre-patch” update, gearing up for the launch of the next expansion, in this case, the World of Warcraft: The War Within expansion. If you are a returning player or if you didn’t buy the WoW edition that includes a boost, you’ll have some prerequisite tasks before you can get into the game. In this case, we’ll help you get started on everything you need to prepare for the upcoming WoW: TWW expansion.

What To Do Before the World of Warcraft: The War Within Release

Pre-Patch Questlines

Once you log into the game, you’ll be greeted by a recommended activity to start the pre-patch questline. All players must finish the “The Harbinger” quest in Dalaran. Go to the Chamber of the Guardian and meet with Khadgar and Alleria. Start the interaction and complete the quest.

Some players might have problems finding The Harbinger quest inside the Chamber of the Guardian. This issue might be caused by the pre-launch event quest, which coincides with the same Harbinger quest, phasing out some of the NPCs. If you have this problem, abandon the pre-launch event quest, finish the Harbinger quest, and pick up the pre-launch event quest again.

Once you are on the pre-launch event quest, keep doing these quests until it leads you to the next expansion.

Warbands Preparation

Warbands is the new The War Within feature that gives players an account-wide progression system across all their characters on their Battle.net account. It doesn’t matter whether you have three or ten other characters; they’ll all share progression with your main character, even if they are on a different server or faction.

To prepare for this feature, players will look to level as many alts as possible. Having more characters that share the same progression will just give you more opportunities to switch roles and classes and activate other professions.

If you don’t feel like playing your main because it doesn’t feel strong or doesn’t fit your playstyle, you can easily switch to your other characters, which is why you should level up some alts before The War Within expansion comes out. This is also great for players who are only looking to play the “meta” or the best classes because they can easily swap out.

Liquidating Currencies

Since there’s a new expansion incoming, it is best to sell all your Dragonflight resources (if you ever played the previous expansion) before they get redundant. While this might be a little too late, there are some scenarios where this tip will be useful. There are some players out there who are still trying to get some achievements and finish some content, so you can still have other high-tier consumables. These consumables also help with leveling on the next expansion.

You can also sell all your alternative gear so you can get more gold and free up some space for when you start playing in The War Within expansion. Cleaning your bag, bank, and guild bank feels tedious, but everyone has to do it.

If you are feeling a bit hyped for this expansion, you can also look into the World of Warcraft: The War Within Collector’s Edition when it is still available. The game is celebrating twenty years, and they have something special in store.
