Some good news for existing PC players is that you can preload the game right now. From now until the game’s release, the game will automatically update through your Battle.net Launcher if you have automatic updates activated. For anyone who doesn’t have this enabled, though, you’ll have to head into the launch, click the gear button beside “Play”, and check for updates manually. Make sure you have at least 50 GB available on your PC!

Unfortunately, console players will have to wait a little longer. Preloading opens at 9 AM PDT on October 4, the same day the game releases. Thankfully, this does still give you some time before the official launch. Head to your console options and select Updates to continue. Make sure you have at least 30 GB available.

The same can be said for new players who do not own the original Overwatch. If you don’t already have Overwatch 2, you’ll have to wait until the official release at 12 PM PDT on October 4. To get around this, you’ll have to purchase the Watchpoint Pack.

Overwatch 2 will release in Early Access starting October 4 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation platforms through the official site.
