Infinite Craft is a simple but compelling browser game about crafting almost anything imaginable. Here is how to play Infinite Craft, plus a basic crafting recipe guide.
What is Infinite Craft and How to Play
Infinite Craft is a game about combining and re-combining elements to make a near-infinite amount of results. It’s simple in concept but offers some interesting results when messing around with different crafting components.
Infinite Craft can be accessed at https://neal.fun/infinite-craft/. When first opening up the website, it will look fairly empty, with a large area on the left and a smaller section on the right. On the right are “Water,” “Fire,” “Wind,” and “Earth,” with the instructions “Drag elements to craft” beneath them.
Playing is very simple from here: click and drag an element from the right to the left to place it there. Then click and drag a different element on top of the one that’s already placed to combine them.
Every time you craft something new, it gets added to your collection of components on the right, so you can reuse them even if you craft them into something else. As you continue mixing components, your collection will grow, and you’ll find some very unique combinations.
You can also freely move components around on the left side of the browser, and you can combine them too. Once your collection of components is long enough, a search bar will appear at the bottom of the right side of the browser, allowing you to search through all your items.
In addition to these features, there’s a “Reset” option and a “Clear” option. “Reset,” which is on the lower left of the page, resets all your progress. The “Clear” option, which is the whisk broom icon in the lower right, will clear the icons off the board while keeping all your unlocked components.
Now the question a lot of players have. Does Infinite Craft save your progress? The short answer is yes, however there are some caveats that you can read about if you are curious.
Infinite Craft Basic Crafting Recipe Guide
We have guides for more complex Infinite Craft recipes, such as making “life,” “humans,” and even “eternity.” If you’re looking for something easier to start with, try the following recipe combinations:
Water + Water | Lake |
Water + Fire | Steam |
Water + Wind | Wave |
Water + Earth | Plant |
Fire + Fire | Volcano |
Fire + Wind | Smoke |
Fire + Earth | Tornado |
Wind + Earth | Dust |
Earth + Earth | Mountain |
Once you’ve prepared the above combinations, you’ll have many more components to work with. Here are some of the more basic Infinite Craft recipes and their results:
Lake+ Lake | Ocean |
Steam + Steam | Cloud |
Wave + Wave | Tsunami |
Plant + Plant | Tree |
Volcano + Volcano | Mountain |
Smoke + Smoke | Cloud |
Lava + Lava | Volcano |
Tornado + Tornado | Hurricane |
Dust + Dust | Sand |
Mountain + Mountain | Mountain Range |
From here, you can play around with many different recipe combinations and see what you come up with. Here’s one last combination chain to get you started:
Sand + Ocean | Bleach |
Bleach + Cloud | Rainbow |
Volcano + Rainbow | Unicorn |
Bleach + Tsunami | Surfer |
Unicorn + Surfer | Mermaid |
Mermaid + Unicorn | Narwhal |
Not all crafting chains work out as nicely as this. You may find that mixing an advanced component with another may result in a basic component instead of something new. But part of the fun is experimenting and seeing what you can uncover.
Infinite Craft “First Discovery”
After you begin messing around with recipes in Infinite Craft, you may stumble upon some “first discoveries.” These are new recipe combinations that you’re the first in the world to discover. Some of Prima Games’s first discoveries include “Grandpizzase” and “Stripper Rocket,” for example.
At the moment, it’s not too difficult to come across a first discovery in Infinite Craft, but over time, the chances of coming across one will become rarer and rarer as more people play the game and fiddle around with an endless amount of recipes. So you may want to get an early start and let your creative juices flow.
