With any game you play on the Steam Deck, you’ll want to turn on your handheld, go to the Disney Dreamlight Valley icon, and download it onto the Steam Deck.
Update 9/30/22: Gameloft has made official recommendations for the Steam Deck settings.
- Right click the game in your Steam Library
- Select Properties
- Select Compatibility
- Choose Enable
- Select “Proton Experimental”
It’s important to note that the game is not officially verified; however, it seems to run fine on the Steam Deck with a few caveats.
Most notably, you’ll need to use the on-screen keyboard for typing commands. Just hit the Steam button + X to pull up the keyboard when needed. It’s a small thing, but it runs better than most other games on the Steam Deck for a game that is not verified.

Otherwise, Disney Dreamlight valley seems to run well on Steam Deck, and if you’re looking to play this game handheld on something a little more powerful than the Nintendo Switch, this is an excellent option.
