How to Open Locked Doors in God of War Ragnarok Valhalla

Brute strength won't help this time

Like any good Roguelite, God of War Ragnarok Valhalla has some doors that are locked as you make your way through new levels. In this guide, I will explain how you can open the Sanctuary Barrier doors within the realms of Kratos’ mind.

How to Unlock Sanctuary Barriers in God of War Ragnarok Valhalla

Locked doors or Sanctuary Barriers can only be unlocked with Sanctuary Barrier Keys purchased for 200 Spirit Seals at the Tabe of Influence. You also need to complete a major milestone in the Valhalla story: taking down Tyr as a boss for the first time. Defeating the Norse God of War opens up access to these keys, among other items.

The Table of Influence itself can only be accessed after you have finished a run of God of War Ragnarok Valhalla or you choose to go back to shore. When you return to the beginning of Valhalla, you can make your way up the steps to find a stone slab with red runes and a stone slab with blue runs. You need the blue table for the Sanctuary Barrier Keys.

When I accessed the Table of Influence, I could see that eight keys were available, each costing 200 Spirit Seals. Any of them that are purchased will remain in Kratos’ inventory as permanent items until they are used. At this point in the DLC, you will have seen a handful of locked Sanctuary Barriers, so there is no shortage of spots to use the key.

Of course, the Spirit Seals can get expensive, and there are only so many doors for you to unlock in the God of War Ragnarok Valhalla DLC. Take your time with what loot you choose to unlock, and make sure to save some currency for additional combat upgrades as well, or else progress will get tougher.

Watch out for some remnants of the Kratos’ Greek past as you also explore the nine realms.
