Zenless Zone Zero is easily one of the biggest launches of 2024 with over 50 million downloads so far. This is another hit on miHoYo’s hands, and while their HoYoPlay launcher is certainly better than the regular client, there are still plenty of technical and server issues that these titles can run into. If you want to directly download and install Zenless Zone Zero with minimal interaction with the launcher, we have you covered.
Zenless Zone Zero Direct Download
Like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, downloading Zenless Zone Zero through the launcher can be a bit buggy for some users. This is because of the unreliable launcher, which doesn’t always connect properly to miHoYo’s servers. Thankfully, you can directly download the game files using the download manager of your choice by directly connecting to the servers.
All the files provided in the guide are the same ones the launcher uses to connect with miHoYo servers, and we don’t privately host the files.
Zenless Zone Zero Download Files
First, you need to download the following zip files, one at a time, using a download manager of your choice. We recommend that you avoid downloading through the browser because it has led to issues in the past with Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail. Download the file parts below, which are 5 GB each.
Note: This guide is currently written with the latest version 1.0.1 in mind.
After you’re done downloading, we can move to the installation.
Step 1: Initiate the Download in the Launcher
First, initiate the download for the game in the launcher and select a destination. After a few MBs have been downloaded, pause the download.
Step 2: Exit the Launcher
After pausing the download, exit the launcher completely. Make sure it isn’t running in the background. For an additional measure, close it properly from the taskbar and task manager as well.
Step 3: Delete Temporary Download Files in Main Folder
Now, head over to where you have installed Zenless Zone Zero (ZenlessZoneZero Game) and delete all the files with “temp” or “tmp” in their name or extension. Don’t delete the config file.
Step 4: Move Zip Files to the Installation Location
Move all the 10 zip files you previously downloaded to the main installation folder (ZenlessZoneZero Game).
Step 5: Open Launcher and Resume Download
Now, after placing the files, run the launcher again and hit the resume button. The launcher will verify the zip files you placed in the folder, and you should be able to play the game normally again.
That’s all you need to do to install the Zenless Zone Zero from scratch. It’s possible that the launcher will download additional files, which is completely normal. We really hope miHoYo continues to work on the launcher so users don’t have to manually download the entire game.
