Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)‘s Gauntlet of Shar introduces you to many different characters, and Yurgir is one of the tougher enemies. There are different ways to defeat him, but finishing him on your own can certainly be challenging. However, there’s a possible way to make him take his own life (which will also complete the main objective of defeating him).
Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3): How to Make Yurgir End His Own Life
For starters, the correct selection of your party members is essential, and you have to pay close attention to who interacts with Yurgir. Make sure not to use a Warlock, as that part is still bugged, and if you use one, it will automatically fail the objective. Having high Insight and Charisma stats is also necessary, and the latter is especially required to complete certain checks successfully.Â
It’s best to converse about Raphael as much as possible until Yurgir reveals that he has a contract. If you ask him to show the contract, the demon will sing a song. There are multiple combinations as to how you can reach this ending, but here’s a guaranteed way to do so.Â
- “Put that thing down. I’m here to talk.”
- “Wait – you know Raphael?”
- “He wants you dead.”
- “Let’s share our experiences about Raphael. Perhaps we can help each other.”
- “Show me this contract. Perhaps there’s something you missed.”
At this point, you will have to succeed with an Insight check. If successful, another set of dialog options will open. Choose the steps as instructed in the following part, and make sure that you complete all the persuasion checks successfully. (Failure at any one will automatically fail the task.)
- “Your contract is a song?”
- “[PERSUASION] The lyrics are a trick. You’ve always had an audience – your followers. Get rid of them.”
- “[PERSUASION] You’re not finished yet – the displacer can hear you, can’t she? Kill her.”
- “[PERSUASION] Exactly. Kill yourself, complete the contract, and you’ll be reborn in Avernus. Free.”
Once you complete all the steps mentioned here, Yugir will kill himself, completing the Kill Raphael’s Old Enemy quest. This will also bring you one step closer to completing the Gauntlet of Shar in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).Â
