How to Get Steel in Infinite Craft
While many formulas can result in Steel, one of the easiest you can get without much trouble is combining Iron + Iron. But reaching this element isn’t that intuitive (as most of the recipes in the game never are), and you first must get Oxygen at the table.

- Plant + Plant = Tree
- Tree + Tree = Forest
- Fire + Wind = Smoke
- Smoke + Smoke = Cloud
- Cloud + Water = Rain
- Rain + Forest = Rainforest
- Rainforest + Plant = Oxygen
And now with the source of all life at the palm of your hands, it’s time for some chemical reactions to enter the game. You’ll need to get a couple of other metals before actually reaching Steel, but once you oxidate them enough, your final destination will only be a few steps away.
- Earth + Fire = Lava
- Lava + Water = Stone
- Stone + Earth = Rock
- Rock + Oxygen = Metal
- Metal + Oxygen = Rust
- Rust + Rust = Iron
- Iron + Iron = Steel
