How to Make a Musket in Palworld

It takes longer than expected to get strapped in Palworld.

One of the biggest draws of Palworld is not only its adorable creatures you can capture and put to work, but also the fact that you can have a gun. Let’s find out how long it takes to unlock the Musket, the first gun you can craft in Palworld.

How To Unlock The Musket in Palworld

To unlock the Musket, you’ll first need to level your character up to Level 21. This can be done quickly and easily by capturing plenty of Pals and receiving the EXP boost from capturing repeats. Once you have hit this level, you’ll need to ensure that you’ve also unlocked the Weapons Workbench, as you can only create weapons on this particular type of bench. Unlock them both, and get ready to start shooting lead.

How To Craft the Musket in Palworld – Materials

Once you have crafted the Weapons Workbench, you’ll need the following items to start creating and crafting Muskets:

  • 25 Ingot
  • 5 High Quality Pal Oil
  • 30 Wood

The hardest material to get here is going to be the High-Quality Pal Oil, as it’s only dropped by a few particular creatures. However, if you’re level 21 or higher, head to the Twilight Dunes, which are located near coordinates (202, -60).

You’ll find a variety of Pals in this area that drop High-Quality Pal Oil, including Dumud and Digtoise. Take your most powerful Pal out here and either take them down or capture them to get your hands on plenty of HQ Pal Oil fast and get ready to start crafting Muskets for you and your crew.

What Kind Of Ammo Do Muskets Use in Palworld?

If you want to ensure that you have plenty of bullets before embarking on your next expedition, you’ll want to make plenty of Coarse Ammo. This is crafted on either the Weapons Workbench, or on a Weapon Assembly Line, and requires the following Materials:

  • 1 Ingot
  • 1 Gunpowder

With those materials, you can craft 10 Bullets to use in your Musket or other weapons like the Makeshift Handgun. Since the Musket does deliver a pretty hefty punch, which is paired with a long reload time, I would recommend having around 50 Bullets on your person at all times. You never know when you’ll encounter a rough Syndacite Outpost or anything of the sort, so being prepared is always a great option.

You can get plenty of Gunpowder by fighting or capturing Tocotoco, which are in abundance in the Twilight Dunes area. Otherwise, you can craft Gunpowder with the following materials;

  • 2 Charcoal
  • 1 Sulfur

To get Sulfur, you’ll want to either embark into the many dungeons spread around Palworld or head back into the Twilight Dunes again. Yes, it’s a trek to make it there but if you’re able to get your hands on HQ Pal Oil and Sulfur, it’s worth the trip. Charcoal can be created by dropping two pieces of wood into a Primitive Furnace and letting a Pal with Kindling experience get to work.
