Making a cake in Minecraft can be a fun activity to enjoy by yourself or with friends on your server. It can also serve as a decorative item for those who have a sweet tooth or are into Gretel and Hansel-themed LARP settings. I’m here to guide you through the simple steps of making a cake in Minecraft.

What is the Cake Crafting Recipe in Minecraft

Crafting a cake is fairly easy. You will need some basic supplies and a workbench. The ingredients for a cake in Minecraft are:

  • 3x Milk
  • 3x Wheat
  • 2x Sugar
  • 1x Egg

If you need help getting either of these ingredients, here’s what you need to know:

  • To get Milk, pick up a bucket and right-click on a cow to fill the bucket with Milk.
  • If you need Wheat, you will find it growing in random places.
  • Sugar is made from Sugar Cane by transforming it at a crafting table. Sugar Cane is found growing near watery areas.
  • Eggs are laid by Chickens.

How to Craft a Cake in Minecraft

Once you have the ingredients, set them at a crafting table in the same order as in the screenshot I’ve posted below:

  • Row 1: Milk, Milk, Milk

How to Bake a Cake in Minecraft

Once you’ve correctly placed all the ingredients in their respective slots, you can simply pull the cake out of the “oven”. There’s no actual baking required. Once the cake is on a solid block, you and your companions can enjoy it by right-clicking. A single cake has seven slices, and baking one will earn you the “The Lie” achievement, a clever nod to Steam’s Portal.
