How to Make 4-star Sandwiches in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk

4-star Sandwiches are only attainable while playing in a Union Circle. You can’t prepare one alone and will always need some help from other players to accomplish this super-special dish. Gather your friends or search for interested players through the community if you wish to make one.

Once you’re all together, have one person set up a Picnic table. One extra person is enough, so don’t worry about finding a full party of four. When doing the Gold Blueberry Quest, all players must participate in the sandwich making. You can join by approaching the table and choosing to make a Sandwich.

Pick as many ingredients as you can and make sure to use at least one Herba Mystica. While 4-stars are achievable without using it, the Herba guarantees your chances of hitting the maximum score.

Since more ingredients will increase the rating of your sandwiches, having more people in your Circle indirectly enhances your chances even further. Just make sure not to drop many of the ingredients off the bread. It will probably still happen, but it’s not the end of the world.

Herba Mystica can be obtained by completing 5-star or higher Tera Raids all across Paldea, Kitakami, or Blueberry Academy. You can also get them through certain in-game events and special NPC miniquests, but raiding is the most consistent and farmable method.

Don’t shy away from Online mode if they’re too tough for you to solo. Herbas are not that rare of a reward, so you should get a few of them within two or three fights.

Should You Make 4-star Sandwiches in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?

When it comes to effectiveness, 4-star Sandwiches work just the same as 3-star ones with Level 3 effects. There’s no Circle-exclusive Level 4 effect, so while a 4-star is powerful, it would be more efficient to just make a regular 3-star with good effects. But making a giant, cursed sandwich with a bunch of people feels great nonetheless.

In the Indigo Disk DLC, one of the Gold-rank BBQs requires you to make a 4-star Sandwich to get huge amounts of BP. Since those quests only spawn when you’re already in a Circle, this is the perfect moment to gather everyone up and make your most atrocious but elegant masterpiece of a sandwich to get those sweet points for everyone involved.

How to Make a 3-Star Sandwich in Scarlet and Violet

If you’re not currently BBQ hunting, you’ll likely want to make a 3-star sandwich instead. To make a 3-star sandwich, you’ll still need to collect the very rare Herba Mystica. There are many combinations that allow you to make one, but the most consistent method of creating one is to always use cucumbers and pickles as the sandwich base. Then you’re gonna want to cycle through the main ingredients (make sure to use three per) until you get results. You’ll also need two Herba Mystica.

If you want a 3-star sandwich that gives a particular effect, you can use a calculator to determine what your ingredient combo will give you.

One of the best parts of playing in a circle is that makes it easier to find the Starter Pokemon in the Terarium. If everyone is down for hunting some Shiny starters, go for a Fire, Water, or Grass Level 3 Sparking Power sandwich to drastically boost your chances of meeting one. They’re still hard to spawn sometimes, so be patient!
