Capcom’s Exoprimal is a multiplayer, team-based third person shooter about shooting lots and lots of dinosaurs. There’s a competitive aspect as well, as teams race against each other to be the first to complete a series of objectives. If it’s a little unclear how exactly Exoprimal works, players can now check the game out for themselves as a new Open Beta test is underway. Through the weekend, anyone can hop in and try it out. Here’s how to join the Exoprimal Open Beta test.
How to Join the Exoprimal Open Beta Test
To jump into Exoprimal, all you have to do is download the bespoke client. Hop into the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft-slash-Xbox marketplace and look for the Exoprimal Open Beta download. That’s all you have to do to get started, and by that, I mean you don’t have to go sign up and ask to be let in the room. But there is a catch after that.. and it’s a catch that’s gonna apply to any Capcom game in the foreseeable future.

That means you have to have a Capcom ID! This whole thing got started with the Street Fighter 6 closed beta testing, but is gonna be out in full force with the likes of Exoprimal and the closely approaching Resident Evil 4 remake. If you want to participate in Exoprimal at all, setting up a Capcom ID and linking it to your gaming platforms is required in order to play. It won’t be required for every game of course, but anything with an online element will see that requirement. Especially since games like Exoprimal will incorporate cross-platform play.
Whether or not you hop into the Open Beta test, you can check out Exoprimal when it launches on July 14, 2023 for the Xbox One and Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and PC.
