How to Increase Tera Raid Battle Stars in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Tera Raid Battles are directly connected to how much progress you’ve made in the game. And perhaps it’s The Pokemon Company’s favoritism for tradition showing, but it’s progress that you made through the Gym challenges that specifically cause Tera Raids to increase star rankings.

1 – 2 Star Tera Raids

To access 1 – 2 Star Tera Raids, you’ll need to complete the tutorial. Yes, that’s it. The moment you stroll out of your Academy the very first Tera Raid you join might be up to 2 stars.

3 Star Tera Raids

While you might have breezed through 1 – 2 Star Tera Raids, you’ll see a marked increase in difficulty with 3 Star Tera Raids. You can unlock 3 Star Tera Raids by obtaining 4 Gym Badges.

4 Star Tera Raids

4 Star Tera Raids demand a huge jump in story progress – you must obtain 8 Gym Badges for these to unlock. But it’s absolutely worth the grind. Not only will more Pokemon be available, but you’ll be able to grind out Large Exp. Candies and Tera Shards.

5 – 6 Star Tera Raids

We’re getting into the big leagues now! In order to unlock 5 – 6 Star Tera Raids, you must prove your worth in the Pokemon League, conquering the Elite 4 Assessment and taking down Paldea’s Champion herself.
