How to Increase Storage Space in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Scrooge McDuck is not your friend

Disney Dreamlight Valley is a free to play (sort of), Early Access life sim sort of game in which Scrooge McDuck decides keeping his store open is more important than saving lives. Sounds familiar! As you collect various items, seeds, plants and myriad weird objects you’re going to run into storage limits. But it’s totally possible and somewhat easy to increase your storage space in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Here’s how.

So far I’ve encountered two different ways to get more storage. The first is through crafting. Once you advance in the game a little and pick up some recipes and materials, you’ll be able to make a new Chest at a crafting table. That doubles your storage space, giving you another set of item spots equal to your overall capacity.

To make that capacity bigger, you need to upgrade your house. Once again, you gotta advance through the story to get the doors open. As you hang out with Scrooge, you’ll learn how to expand and add rooms to your house, which you should definitely do. Once you do that, Scrooge will soon drop one of his construction signs in front of your place, giving you the actual upgrade option. The first upgrade costs a couple thousand coins, and after that it’s several thousand.

Remember folks, propaganda from the ruling class is not labor solidarity

Each upgrade seems to add an additional row of space in those storage options, much like when you drop the coin to upgrade your inventory capacity. And like I said earlier, this seems to apply to any additional storage furniture you acquire and/or craft. So as limited as storage space seems right at the beginning, it’s not a problem for very long.
