How to Improve Redfall Performance on PC

Is this game sucking the life out of your PC? Find out a possible fix here!

With the launch of Redfall, players are eager to see what the world and the hullabaloo are all about. While this may not be the perfect game for everyone, there is still a fair amount to enjoy, as long as you can get your platform of choice to perform well enough. Using Unreal Engine 4 to power its uniquely stylized world, players on PC in particular have been noticing some performance issues, even if their device exceeds the recommended PC specs. Let’s dive in and find out if there is anything that we can tweak enough to make Redfall run better, or what we can do to help us get our blood lust satiated just a tad.

Tweak These Settings Before Jumping Into Redfall On PC

Much like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, it seems the PC port of Redfall was not properly run through the wringer before being unleashed into the world. The engine is partially to blame, with Unreal Engine 4 starting to become yesterday’s news, and plenty of shader building and caching happening before things come to life.

Until a patch is made available by the development team, try these specs on for size before jumping into the world of Redfall on your own or with friends:

  • Resolution: 1920×1080
  • Graphics Preset: Custom
  • Texture Quality: Medium
  • Effects Quality: Medium
  • Foliage Quality: Low
  • Shading Quality: Low
  • Shadow Quality: Medium
  • View Distance Quality: Medium
  • Upscaling Option: DLSS/FSR
  • Mode – Performance

As long as you meet the Recommended Specs for Redfall, you should be able to enjoy it as much as possible. While there may still be performance jitters and stutters, these should be at least the baseline specs that you can try running. If Redfall is still not performing as expected, you could always turn down the Shadow Quality and View Distance Quality settings to see if that helps performance.

The only other thing you can try doing at this point is waiting for a patch to come out. While that may not be the ideal solution, official developer support is going to be the quickest and most efficient way to squash some of the bugs that are sapping the life out of this particular game.
