How to Get Your Companion to Pose in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley is an adorable game that’s only gotten cuter with the Pride of the Valley update. With this update, you can now take pictures with your favorite animal companion. And most animals have a unique selfie pose, which you can see when you take a picture.

But to get your companion to pose, you’re going to need to go through a multi-step process. If you’ve already successfully gotten an animal companion, feel free to skip to the bottom.

Befriend Animals in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The first step to seeing an animal pose is to befriend it. To do that, you’re going to need to approach the animal you want to take a selfie with and feed it. Sometimes you can feed an animal with a click of a button. Other times, an animal might require you to jump through a few hoops.

You’ll need to feed your favorite animal two or three days in a row to unlock it as a companion.

Equip a Companion in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Once you’ve successfully unlocked that animal as a companion, you’ll need to equip it. Doing so will cause it to follow you around.

To equip your new friend, head into your Wardrobe then press the Companion tab. Within this menu, you can see all the companions you’ve unlocked. Pick your favorite by selecting their icon and that animal will automatically follow you around.

Taking Photos with Your Animal Companion

Now that you have a companion, you can take photos of it. Select your camera from the tool menu. Next, you’ll notice there’s a menu in the top-right corner of your screen. Select the human icon in the middle.

A new menu will pop up at the bottom right of your screen. Select the paw icon, and your animal companion will begin posing with you. Press the capture button, and you’ll be able to snap a cute picture of you and your new friend.
