How to Get Varoom in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

We're off to the races with this mechanical monstrosity

If you want to get yourself around the Paldea region, there’s only one Pokemon that can zoom you around in style. Forget legendries like Koraidon and Miraidon – that’s generic, cliché, boring. Instead, find yourself a Varoom. An actual sentient engine that was born from scrap and the misplaced affection of a Poison Pokemon.

Sure, Varoom looks a little rough around the edges. It’s literally just an engine with two wheels, what might be eyes, and what might be a mouth. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t the baddest ride in town. And if its evolved form is good enough for Paldean beauty Mela of Team Star, then by Arceus it’s good enough for us. Here’s how to get Varoom in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Fortunately, finding yourself your own Varoom isn’t too difficult. This Steel and Poison Pokemon isn’t bound to a specific time or day, so you can hunt it down morning, noon, or night. It’s also available to both Violet and Scarlet players.

They’re a fairly common spawn, assuming you know its preferred biomes. And as a sentient engine, of course you can find it roving through mines, mountains, and towns. Because that’s where cars are happiest. But more specifically than that, you can find it in West Province (Area Two) and East Province (Area Three).

In these areas, you’ll likely see this meter-tall engine zooming along, as its namesake implies. And catching one of these Engine Pokemon early is a fantastic idea, as its typing makes it resistant to most attacks while only taking painful punches from Fire and Ground types.
