How to Get The Soar Trophy in Spider-Man 2

Using only your Web Wings, glide from the Financial District to Astoria

One of the rarest PlayStation trophies in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is called “Soar,” tasking players to glide from the Financial District to Astoria using only the Web Wings. Here is a guide and video demonstrating how to obtain this challenging achievement.

In order to glide all the way from the Financial District to Astoria, it will require using the wind tunnels and upward drafts to keep Spider-Man in the air. Use the video above to witness a successful run of how to obtain the Soar trophy, and read ahead to learn the exact strategy.

Before you begin, place a marker anywhere in Astoria, so you can know where to glide while attempting the feat. I personally started at the point on the map above in the Financial District, as it is located directly next to a wind tunnel, but you can glide from anywhere in the Financial District. Simply jump from a building and start gliding north through the wind tunnel by using the triangle button. You don’t have to hold triangle the entire time that you are gliding, and you can use the left analog stick to change direction.

Through using the wind tunnels, Spider-Man will glide at high speed and be shot high into the air at the tunnel’s end. You can find wind tunnels by looking for gusts of winds moving horizontally with large green circles. Upward drafts on the other hand are wind swells that move vertically, and propel Spidey higher.

From the starting point, head north through Greenwich and Chinatown, riding the wind tunnels and nearby upward drafts, and make your way to the massive wind tunnel that runs through the coast on the Upper East Side.

Once you reach the end of the tunnel, hook a hard right into Astoria. You should have enough momentum to simply glide into the District. You don’t have to go all the way into the heart of Astoria to obtain the trophy, as crossing the district border is the only requirement.

If you have successfully made it to Astoria without web-swinging or touching the ground, the “Soar” trophy will pop. Currently, it is the third-rarest trophy in the entire game, as of this writing.
