How to Get the Iron Golem in Minecraft Dungeons

The best bodyguards you could ever get

The Iron Golem is a regular Minecraft staple that you will usually find in big villages. Although they’re usually passive, they become ruthless and dreadful very quickly whenever a threat such as Creepers starts to appear next to the area they’re currently defending. You can even make your own Golem with some effort, and Minecraft Dungeons isn’t much different in that regard.

Just as many other creatures, animals and various different life forms, the Iron Golem can also be obtained and summoned in Dungeons to help the Hero in his quest against the Illager (otherwise he’s just there to clear the path in those cool DLC areas), and is a very valuable asset to your build. Here’s how you can get the Iron Golem in Minecraft Dungeons

How to Summon the Iron Golem in Minecraft Dungeons

The Iron Golem is summoned through the Golem Kit item, which can only be obtained from two specific locations in the Apocalypse difficulty: Pumpkin Pastures and Lost Settlement (DLC-exclusive). To unlock Apocalypse, you must first clear the base game in the Adventure difficulty, unlocked after first beating the Illager in Default.

Enemies you find in those areas in lower difficulties won’t drop the Golem Kit at all, so don’t bother trying to farm them. At least they can be obtained from any random enemy, so you might get it on your first try if you’re lucky enough.

Alternatively, the Merchants in your base camp have a random chance to offer you a Golem Kit from time to time, so don’t forget to check them often. You can spend some Emeralds to reroll their items and try your luck, but beware that it will probably take a good while before the kit finally shows up.

The Iron Golem behaves just like it would in regular Minecraft. They’re the strongest summon available in Dungeons (hence its rarity) and have high damage resistance, making them the best call when ravaging solo through a dungeon. They’ll automatically attack Creepers too, so you don’t have to worry about going melee against those anymore.

Good luck with your Golem hunting!
