How to Get the Flamethrower in The Finals

There’s no contestant I fear more than The Heavy. You’re just minding your business, and she comes barreling through a wall with a Flamethrower or a Sledgehammer, ready to ruin your day and steal all your pocket change.

Fortunately, you can get the Flamethrower for yourself in The Finals. Here’s how to do it.

First, go to the main menu and select Contestants. Choose the ‘Heavy’. The Heavy is the only character in The Finals that can use the weapon. Shame, I know. Imagine a Light uncloaking with it.

Next, tab over to the main weapon. If you haven’t changed her weapon yet, it should read ‘M60’. Select The M60, and you’ll see all the Heavy’s available weapons. At the far right, you’ll see the Flamethrower.

Select the Flamethrower and choose ‘Overview’. You’ll be brought to a screen that shows all the Flamethrower’s stats and a button that says ‘UNLOCK.’

If you have the VR, you can unlock the Flamethrower now. The Flamethrower costs 800 VR, much like the rest of the potential weapons and Specializations you can buy. However, if you don’t have VR, you can easily make some by cashing out or winning a game. Even if you don’t cash out or win a game, you’ll still make some VR, though not as much as you would have if you’d hit those objectives.

Once you have the Flamethrower unlocked, return to the Contestants and Heavy loadout menu. You can then press weapon and swap the M60 to the Flamethrower. The Flamethrower will become your default weapon, horrifying anyone within nine feet of you.

Good luck turning everyone into barbeque!
