When it comes to accessories, you can choose to make your team more lethal. Or you can horde EXP and JP like a gremlin dragon deadest on over-leveling your team. The Brooch of Joy will let you be that dragon. Here’s how to get the Brooch of Joy in Octopath Traveler 2.

How to Get the Brooch of Joy in Octopath Traveler 2

Octopath Traveler 2 is a game that’s absolutely riddled with high-level optional dungeons, difficult bosses, and an endgame that will challenge you and your meticulously crafted team. To that end, you’ll probably spend some time grinding.

There are a number of learned skills and accessories to make grinding easier. But there’s one accessory that’s head and shoulder above the rest: the Brooch of Joy. This accessory grants additional EXP and JP after each fight. Unfortunately, obtaining it requires some dedication to a particular Apothecary.

To get the Brooch of Joy, you’ll need to complete Castti’s entire story line. SPOILERS AHEAD.

During her story, Castti will head to Winterbloom, where she’ll meet Rosa, a past patient and the Lord of Winterbloom. Rosa is stricken with a sickness that will eventually take her life, but Castti has periodically managed to suppress it. When Rosa finally passes, her daughter, Melia, inherits the role of leader of Winterbloom. Rosa also gives her daughter the Brooch of Joy.

But we can’t get it just yet! You’ll need to complete Castti’s Chapter 4 and then return to Winterbloom. Melia will be in the manor on the second floor. You can then Steal the Brooch of Joy with Throne. Purchasing it isn’t an option, which makes sense.

You can also then opt to speak to Melia to start the post-chapter quest, Melia’s Next Chapter. Completing this quest will reward you with Melia’s Amulet. This amulet will recover HP and SP after the user performs an action, making it quite potent.
