Honkai: Star Rail has introduced the Tears of Dreams as a solution for players struggling with getting enough materials for their characters. And since that’s probably all of us, here’s how you can get more of this special, rare Ascension Material.
Where to Get Tears of Dreams in Honkai: Star Rail
Tears of Dreams are exclusively obtained through the upgraded Nameless Honor battle pass. You get a bunch of those every couple of levels. The exact numbers are:
- Level 15: 24 Tears of Dreams
- Level 20: 24 Tears of Dreams
- Level 25: 24 Tears of Dreams
- Level 35: 24 Tears of Dreams
- Level 40: 72 Tears of Dreams
- Level 45: 72 Tears of Dreams
- Level 50: 72 Tears of Dreams
If you reach those levels without unlocking Nameless Honor, you’ll receive all rewards when you purchase it. 150 Tears of Dreams are also included in the Herta Contract: Resource Supply V2 pack in the Contract Shop tab in the Store, and you can buy these up to five times a month.
Tears are not farmable in-game and are not available as rewards for any game mode at the moment. However, certain events may occasionally yield some Tears of Dreams as rewards. During the 1.6 update release, players received an email containing 150 of them, for example, and future events may include them in rewards eventually.
What Are Tears of Dreams in Honkai: Star Rail?
Tears of Dreams work exactly as a regular Ascension Material, but they’re a universal Material that works for every path. You can level both your Hunt and Erudition characters’ Traces by using them, making them one of the most valuable resources available. However, they’re not 100% equivalent to the original required items. The conversion table is the following:
- 2* materials (Green): 1 Tear per material
- 3* materials (Blue): 3 Tears per material
- 4* materials (Purple): 9 tears per material
While it doesn’t seem that much worth it at first, having some extra Tears to make up for your sudden lack of resources is a lifesaver if you happen to calculate it wrong for some reason. As new Ascension Materials are introduced, using Tears can save you some time instead of farming the recently-arrived items for the characters you just pulled.Â
They’re a very welcome convenience, and while not everyone can get their hands easily on those, they make the lives of those who did way better. As soon as those players can decide on which Light Cone they should pick this time around.
