How to Get Suet in Pax Dei

Pax Dei has a more complex cooking system than most survival-crafting games out there. It is because of several different crafting structures dedicated to making food, drinks, and other consumables. One of the main ingredients in meat dishes is Suet, which might be hard to find. Here’s a quick guide on where you can find Suet in Pax Dei and set up your kitchen as soon as possible.

Where to Get Suet in Pax Dei

Suet mainly drops from dead old boars and other thicker animals. While other animals may also drop Suet, boars are the best for farming Suet because they are always in groups. They also drop quite a ton of Wool Fibers and other cooking materials like Boar Carcasses and Animal Intestines.

You can find boars almost everywhere, but there are some areas that are better than others because you can farm other resources. In mountainous areas (starting areas), you can also find groups of boars, and you can also find useful minerals like Impure Iron Deposits and Granite. It is best to go around these areas and farm multiple resources at once. You’ll surely get some Suet, especially when you branch out to other areas when going back to your base.

If you want to go closer to the center of the map, there are also boars there, but wolves, bears, and corrupted creatures lurk in the area. Without good weapons and armor, you’ll have a difficult time fighting them.

What is Suet Used For?

Suet is mainly used in the Basic Cooking Hearth to craft other recipes. The Basic Cooking Heart needs the following materials:

• 1x Basic Cooking Tools
• 20x Gneiss
• 50x Charcoal
• 25x Clay

Once you have the Basic Cooking Hearth, you can craft Lard and Tallow using 2 Suets for each craft. You’ll get 5 Lard or 5 Tallow for each craft and these are mainly used to craft better meat dishes for amazing temporary buffs for your character.
