How to Get Spiritomb Easily in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The nightmare days are over.

Since its introduction in Gen 4, the Ghost/Dark-type Spiritomb has been notoriously difficult to get your hands on. Whether it was inserting the Odd Keystone into the Hallowed Tower and then speaking to 32 other players in the Underground in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, or collecting 107 rogue Wisps across the Hisui region in Pokemon Legends Arceus, it’s never been easy.

Until now, that is. For the first time in series history, you can now catch Spiritomb in the wild in the Paldea region – no time-consuming, frustrating gimmick here. Here’s how to get Spiritomb easily in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Easy Way to Catch Spiritomb in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

If you’ve tried looking up Spiritomb’s habitat in your Pokedex after seeing a fellow Trainer with one, it shows “Habitat unknown.” So where the heck do you catch one then?

From our own testing, the creepy Forbidden Pokemon appears as a static encounter in two places on Glaseado Mountain. Two of us went to the exact same two places on the mountain and were able to find Spiritomb in both areas so we’re convinced it’s not a coincidence.

See the map screenshots below for the exact locations where we both found a wild Spiritomb:

Left: Northeast of Montenevera on a cliff. Right: East of Socarrat Trail on the edge of a snowy cliff.

When you find a Spiritomb, make sure you have a level 50+ Pokemon in your first Party slot because it will be at least level 49 itself and will rush you if it spots you. As if it wasn’t creepy enough already.

Can Spiritomb Be Shiny in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Yes! Spiritomb can indeed be Shiny in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The creepy Ghost/Dark-type switches its purple and green color palette for a gray-blue face and purple eyes. In a way, it’s even scarier.
