Pax Dei has several different resources used to craft specific armor sets. While these armor sets can be worn by any player, they still offer different stats. For those who want to play or mimic a ranger character, you’ll want to get a leather armor set, where you’ll need tons of Rawhides to craft. Here’s how you can get and craft those Rawhides and get your leather armor sets in Pax Dei.

How to Craft Rawhides in Pax Dei

To craft Rawhides, you need the following:

  • Simple Tanning Rack
  • Simple Leatherworking Table

The Simple Leatherworking Table needs Basic Leatherworking Tools, such as Flint, Bone Fragments, and Sapwood. For the Simple Tanning Rack, you only need Reeds, Long Wood Stocks, and Short Wood Stocks.

These are all simple materials, and you’ll easily craft them when you gather enough resources through adventuring. Rawhides are crafted on the Simple Tanning Rack using 10 Large Rough Animal Hides. You’ll get 10 Rawhides per craft, and it takes around 15 minutes to finish.

These Large Rough Animal Hides come from Rough Animal Hides or Small Rough Animal Hides. You can turn Small Rough Animal Hides into Rough Animal Hides and then turn Rough Animal Hides into Large Roough Animal Hides.

In short, any kind of Hide can be turned into Rawhides. You’ll need to use the Simple Leatherworking Table to turn everything into Large Rough Animal Hides and go to the Simple Tanning Rack once you reach at least 10 pieces.

You get Animal Hides from almost all the animals you encounter in Pax Dei. However, if you want some Large Rough Animal Hides outright, you can farm bears, which will be way harder than other animals. The best ones to efficiently farm are boars since they spawn in groups and are much easier to defeat.

What Are Rawhides Used For?

You can turn Rawhides into Coarse Leather Bands, which are then used to craft any of the basic leather armor sets on the Simple Leatherworking Table. However, the leather armor pieces also need Rawhides and Coarse Leather Bands or Coarse Leather Strings, so you need to keep some Rawhides too. The leather armor set is a decent all-around gear set as it gives some slash, piercing, and blunt defenses. The only thing left now is to craft a bow to fulfill your ranger class build, even though Pax Dei doesn’t really have any classes.
