How to Get Noxious Spores in Lightyear Frontier

Harmful, yet useful.

Most of the resources in Lightyear Frontier can be found by exploring and mining the land, though obtaining the pink Noxious Spores requires an unconventional method. Here is how to get Noxious Spores and what they can be used for.

How to Get Noxious Spores in Lightyear Frontier

Noxious Spores must be crafted using Noxious Pods in the Grinder construct. They cannot be found wild in the environment.

Noxious Pods can be earned by participating in two events that happen at the base randomly. The first event has weed seeds falling from the sky, and sucking them up with the Vacuum Harvester before they hit the ground will give Noxious Pods. The other event has pink bubbles rising from the ground that must be sprayed with the Irrigation Hose before bursting.

Players can get multiple Noxious Pods with each event if done well. The events can be easily tracked once players build the Weather Station, and will list the event within the seven-day forecast.

Noxious Pods can be turned into Noxious Spores with the Grinder. The Grinder requires 12 Stone, four Aluminum Rods, and four Copper Wire. Players can queue up several conversions, then wait or go to sleep to gather the new items.

How to Use Noxious Spores in Lightyear Frontier

Noxious Spores are used mainly to build Strange furniture, which can provide players with added benefits by placing them within their base. These items can be earned by finding artifacts in set locations around the world.

Otherwise, players will need Noxious Spores to build Power Cores at the Assembler. Power Cores are necessary for the Advanced Furnace and multiple mech upgrades. Here is everything that can be used with Noxious Spores:

  • Power Core
  • Strange Fence
  • Strange Chair
  • Strange Table
  • Strange Lamp
  • Strange Fountain
  • Strange Vase
  • Strange Signpost
