You’ll stumble upon a number of legendary weapons in Starfield, and most of them prove challenging to acquire. Well, not too difficult, but definitely time-consuming. The Memento Mori is no different. It requires a lengthy faction questline, a soap opera’s worth of dialogue, and patience. If you can handle that, then here’s how to get Memento Mori in Starfield.

Where to Get Memento Mori in Starfield

As previously mentioned, to acquire Memento Mori in Starfield, you’ll need to follow along with a certain faction questline. More specifically, you need to work for UC SysDef to infiltrate the Crimson Fleet, but ultimately choose the former before the questline’s conclusion.

To receive this legendary pistol with three unique affixes, you must submit 15 out of the 20 necessary pieces of evidence to Lieutenant Toft to complete “Burden of Proof.” Once you hand over the evidence, work through her lengthy dialogue, in which she will unload her past upon you, and then she’ll hand over Memento Mori.

Memento Mori Stats and Details

Unlike most other unique weapons we’ve covered previously, Memento Mori isn’t just unique, it’s legendary. This pistol, based on the powerful Sidestar, features not one but three unique affixes to help you flex in combat. That, and it comes pre-installed with multiple mods to boost its stats further.

  • Weapon Type: Pistol
  • Damage Type: Physical
  • Damage: 17
  • Ammunition Type: .27 Caliber
  • Magazine Size: 17
  • Fire Rate: 40
  • Range: 20
  • Accuracy: 69.7%
  • Mass: 0.80
  • Value: 5360
  • Mod Slot 1: Laser Sight
  • Mod Slot 2: Tactical Grip
  • Mod Slot 3: Explosive Rounds
  • Mod Slot 4: High Powered
  • Legendary Effects:
    • Crippling: Deals an additional 30% damage on the follow-up attack after hitting an enemy’s limbs.
    • Cornered: As health decreases, damage increases.
    • Demoralizing: Provides a small chance to demoralize the target.
  • Item ID: 00316416

While Demoralizing certainly isn’t the best legendary affix you can find on a weapon, Cornered and Crippling will both stomp most enemies in combat. If you pair those with the usual perks to increase pistol and ballistic damage, you’ll wreck enemies well into the mid-game.
