How to Get Lumina in Destiny 2

Sometimes you need a blood sacrifice to keep your friends alive

If there’s one thing Guardians love, it’s guns with satisfying recoil. And the Lumina fits that perfectly as a Kinetic Hand Cannon that’s just as beautiful as it is powerful. Here’s how to get the Exotic Lumina for yourself in Destiny 2.

How to Get Lumina in Destiny 2

Most Hand Cannons fall squarely into the camp of only seeing real value in the Crucible or Trials. But Lumina bucks that trend by being exceptionally useful in PvE. That’s because Lumina is one of the few weapons in Destiny 2 in which the main function is to support the team.

Lumina’s Exotic Perk grants the following ability: “Kills with this weapon leave behind Remnants. Absorbing a Remnant converts your next hip-fired shot into an ally-seeking Noble Round and partially refills the magazine.”

And with Blessing of the Sky, using a Noble Round on an ally heals them and grants both you and them a weapon damage bonus for a short duration. As you can imagine, this is great for mob-heavy floors where just staying alive is a herculean task. Lumina thus functions best as a mob-clearer, while your comrades lay into the boss.

But how do you actually get it? First things first, you’ll need the Forsaken Pack. This is actually a fantastic time to buy a pack, if you’re thinking about it, as all expansion packs are on sale.

With the Forsaken Pack in your inventory, head over to the Monument of Lost Lights in the Tower, wedged between the Vaults. It’s halfway between Lord Shaxx and Banshee-44.

Once there, select Forsake Exotics, Destiny Year 2 in the first row. Lumina will be there.

If this is your first time buying the Forsaken Pack, on the far left you can claim three Forsaken Ciphers. This will allow you to claim three Forsaken Exotics at no cost. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay the following amount for Lumina.

  • 1 Exotic Cipher
  • 125,000 Glimmer
  • 200 Baryon Boughs
  • 1 Ascendant Shard

It’s a steep cost! But if you want to play support in tough end game activities, like raids, this is a great gun. If you are curious about other Exotics, check out how to get Winterbite, the Stasis Exotic Glaive!
