How to Get the Lucky Egg in Pokemon Sword and Shield

So, you want a Lucky Egg? Well, okay. Sure. They’re not actually hard to get as long as you’ve finished the main game in Pokemon Sword and Shield. By that, we mean that you have had to become the Champion and that you’ll have had to have defeated Leon. So long as you’ve completed that requirement, you’ll then be able to follow the steps that we’re about to lay out to get the Lucky Egg.

But first of all, why might someone want a Lucky Egg? Well, it’s actually pretty easy. The Lucky Egg is an item that’s described as such in your inventory: “An item to be held by a Pokemon. It’s an egg filled with happiness that earns the holder extra Exp. Points in battle.” As you might now be able to tell, it’s basically something that boosts your Pokemon’s experience when it fights. Perfect! While all Pokemon passively share EXP in Galar when it comes to training conventions, this will give that one special Pokemon who actually participates in battle even more extra experience points. If you’re wanting to level up one Pokemon quick in time for the Isle of Armor DLC that’s dropping in June 2020, then this is a decent enough method to do so.

Now for the reason that you clicked on this guide – how to get a Lucky Egg in Pokemon Sword and Shield. As we’ve mentioned already, you’re going to want to have finished the story in order to get this – there’s no other way. Once you’re secure in your position as Champion, head to the idyllic town of Hulbury and speak to the Chef in the Seafood Restaurant. You might remember having visited here while brushing up on Rose’s culinary snobbery earlier on in the game. What you’re going to be asked to do is to help the chef deliver food to people. You have to go to the following locations:

  • The house by Hulbury Station – this will give you Exp. Candy L and Nuggets
  • The house to the left of the Seafood Restaurant – this will give you two Big Nuggets
  • The shop in the marketplace with the green striped roof

Once you’ve visited all the locations above, you can then head to back to the Chef in the Seafood Restaurant. As thanks to you for playing the part of an UberEats Delivery driver, you’re going to be given the Lucky Egg as a reward. All you need to do now is to equip it to your chosen Pokemon!

Now that you have our guide on how to get a Lucky Egg in Pokemon Sword and Shield, it’s going to be a little bit easier for you to level up your chosen Pokemon. Yes, we’re a fan of anything that makes it easier to level, so we highly recommend getting this done if you’re trying to boost up a particular critter with IVs and whatnot that you’ve trained for stardom.
