You need to eliminate the top player on the enemy team to earn a Kingslayer kill. Due to the nature of the accolade, it can be tough to earn a ton of these in one match. Not only do you have to try and take down the best player on the opposing team, but that designation can change fairly quickly. If you’re about to kill the king of the other team, and the second-place player happens to earn just enough score to reach the top, you will need to change targets.

The best way to earn Kingslayer kills is to play game modes like Domination and Hardpoint. Playing modes with fast respawn times and tons of opportunities for elimination is the key to the accolade. Modes like Search and Destroy or Free-For-All will make Kingslayer kills in MW3 either impossible because you are in first place or nearly impossible because of the pace of SnD. Focus on the fast-paced respawn modes for this.

You won’t find a lot of camo challenges that task you with grinding out these kills because they are few and far between when compared to something as simple as a hipfire. However, you can find them as part of the weekly challenge list in some cases. Week 8 in Season 2 has at least one challenge that will require you to earn some Kingslayer kills along the way. If you want the Rook Blueprint reward for that week, it’s time for some Regicide.

While you’re on the challenge grind, stay on the lookout for Barebones kills as well.
