How to Get Incense in Diablo 4

If you’ve taken a gander at the short list of Diablo 4 achievements, you’ve likely seen the achievement, ‘Convenient Crafts’. This achievement requires you to craft both elixirs and incense. But if you haven’t made incense before, I really recommend it, as it’s extremely potent. Especially if you’re tackling hard, end-game content with a group. Here’s how to make it.

  • Be at least level 45
  • Go to any major town or city
  • Speak to the alchemist (mortar and pestle icon on the map)
  • Tab right to the fourth menu “Craft Incense”
  • Craft incense

There are five types of incense, each of which offers a 25+ stat boost to all nearby players for 20 minutes. The stat boosted will depend on which incense you crafted.

  • Ancient Times: +25 Strength
  • Blessed Guide: +25 Willpower
  • Queen’s Supreme: +25 Dexterity
  • Sage’s Whisper: +25 Intelligence
  • Song of the Mountain: +200 armor

And no, unfortunately, incense does not stack and you can only use one at a time. But that doesn’t mean that your party members can’t use one!

As for how to use it, simply open your inventory, then tab right away from equipment, into consumables. There, your incense can be browsed and activated at your leisure.

If you’re struggling to find incense ingredients, you can craft uncommon materials at the alchemist. Fiend Rose, a rare material, can only be found during Helltide as an overworld spawn or in Helltide chests. Angelbreath is a rare drop that can occur from any overworld plant or Herb Cache. While it can appear anywhere, the drop rates are quite low.

While incense is potent, elixirs are easy to make, and they boost your exp. Here’s how to make them: How to Make and Use Elixirs in Diablo 4.
