How to Get Hisuian Zoroark in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Not an illusion, it's really here

Pokemon Day has fed the series’ fans with some exciting news for all of their titles. Scarlet and Violet were obviously the big announcements of the day, as the base game got a new update which included a few other highly anticipated updates, such as integration with Pokemon GO. But the biggest thing is their newest DLCs which include tons of new Pokemon, as well as some returning exclusives for each version.

Among those newcomers and returners, we also got a glimpse of an old fan favorite: the Hisuian form of Zoroark. The Illusion Fox Pokemon is available right now for trainers to grab. Since Pokemon HOME is still locked away from Scarlet and Violet, this is the first Hisui-exclusive Pokemon we’re getting in Gen IX so far, so here’s how you get your own.

How to Catch Hisuian Zoroark in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Previously exclusive to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, this snowy fox is available as a bonus for all trainers who pre-ordered their own digital copy of The Hidden Treasures of Area Zero DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Along with other preordering bonuses, players get an exclusive code for redeeming their own Hisuian Zoroark.

You can pre-order the DLCs for either Scarlet or Violet through the official Nintendo eShop. Just make sure you’re grabbing the correct version. At the end of your purchase, you’ll be gifted with your code for redeeming your own special alternate Zoroark in-game. A copy will be sent to your email, so don’t worry about losing it.

To redeem your Hisuian Zoroark, launch Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and go for the Mystery Gift option in the Poke Portal menu. Pick the second option – Get with Code or Password – and paste your code here. Congrats, you’re now the proud owner of a Hisuian Zoroark!

Your Hisuian Zoroark will know the moves Happy Hour, Bitter Malice, Nasty Plot, and Tera Blast with the usual Illusion ability, and it also has the Dark Tera Type. You can now freely breed it with Ditto to get a Shiny Hisuian Zorua, so good luck.
