How to Get Greater Blood Essence in V Rising

Bloody brilliant.

Greater Blood Essence is one of the most widely used and rarest items in V Rising because it’s only acquired from high-level enemies and bosses. Greater Blood Essence is used in constructs and weapon crafting, so they become very valuable materials the farther you progress. Here’s how to get Great Blood Essence in V Rising.

How to Obtain Greater Blood Essence in V Rising

While crafting Greater Blood Essence is an easy task, acquiring the materials to put it together requires a little more time and patience. You need (4) Unsullied Hearts to make (1) Greater Blood Essence, using a Blood Press. The Blood Press construct can be built using 8 Plank and 120 Stone. You should be able to unlock the building recipe for the Blood Press construct early into the game as well.

For most of your early steps into V Rising, you’ll deal with standard Blood Essence, which can be acquired by just fighting monsters and human warriors. But Greater Blood Essence is a much rarer item that’ll only be useful toward the middle stages of your progression, specifically when you start building Servant Coffins and upgrading your Castle.

Best Way to Use Greater Blood Essence in V Rising

Greater Blood Essence will only be of use later in the game when you’ve passed a few of the beginner quests and unlocked the ability to acquire Servants in V Rising. From here, you can craft multiple Servant Coffins using Greater Blood Essence and convert dominated humans into loyal vampire Servants to do your bidding.

Beyond just Servants though, you can also craft various equipment like Rings and Merciless Iron weapons. These items can upgrade your equipment level and make you incredibly strong, so make sure to save a few Greater Blood Essences to craft some interesting weapons or accessories along your journey.

But that’s pretty much the gist when it comes to farming Greater Blood Essence in V Rising. Feel free to read some of our other guides on how to get Longbows or unlock the new Spider Form in V Rising.
