Pax Dei has a large collection of mineral deposits you can mine, but there are also rocks like Gneiss and Granite that are particularly useful to progress in the game. Getting Gneiss is much more straightforward. However, Granite is a bit harder to find and even if you do find it, you might not have the right tool to mine it. Here’s a quick guide on where you can find Granite and how you can mine them in Pax Dei.
Where to Find Granite in Pax Dei
Granite drops from mining Granite Deposits around the world. They spawn in mountainous areas, and you can look for these areas by opening the map and looking for the places where there are hill drawings. They spawn in most starting areas, but if you go closer to the center, you might find fewer of them because of the number of different deposits that spawn near the center of the map.
These Granite Deposits look similar to Gneiss and Impure Iron Deposits, but this one is a bit shinier with gray shades on it. Gneiss is much whiter while Impure Iron Deposits have clear black strokes on them.
However, you should craft or upgrade your pickaxe to the Iron Pickaxe before venturing out to farm Granite. If you use the basic pickaxe, you won’t be able to mine these deposits because the rock is too hard to mine.
Farm Impure Iron Deposits for Iron Ingots first, and then start upgrading your tools. If you already have them, prepare for some long mining hours. Granite Deposits take at least 30 swings with the upgraded Iron Pickaxe to mine.
What is Granite Used For?
Granite is mainly used to craft the Basic Cooking Workbench. It unlocks the Basic Baking Tools or the Basic Bread Oven. You also get several recipes for consumables, including Lora Des Papes, which greatly increases your stamina by a whopping 37 and provides a 0.4 stamina regen. These are perfect for increasing your efficiency when chopping or mining for resources. You can also use it to swim longer if you need to cross the river.
Your cooking journey starts after getting Granite and placing the Basic Cooking Workbench. You’ll also need some much-needed Charcoal to craft it.
